Last week, The King’s English Bookshop in Salt Lake City hosted the official launch of The Clockwork Three<\/em>.\u00a0 It was truly a wonderful experience.\u00a0 The event was well-attended, with lots of family and friends there to show their support.\u00a0 My parents and my sister even traveled in from out-of-state, and it meant a lot to have them there.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We held the event out on the store’s patio.\u00a0 Here, Anne Holman, the general manager of The King’s English, is introducing me.\u00a0 It was a very lovely introduction, full of things she hadn’t told me before.\u00a0 (I promise you haven’t seen the last of Madame Pomeroy, Anne!)<\/p>\n

Rachel, who I believe is the now the manager of the children’s section (sorry if I got that wrong,) ordered a very special cake for the event refreshments.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Yes.\u00a0 That’s my book cover.\u00a0 On a cake.\u00a0 You know how people talk about devouring a book?\u00a0 Well, we did.\u00a0 And it was delicious!<\/p>\n

I gave a short introduction to the story behind the book, and then I read a few pages.\u00a0 After that, I took questions from the audience, and then I moved inside to sign books.\u00a0 I have a video of the presentation portion of the evening (not the signing – that would be one boring video).\u00a0 When I get some time, I may edit together a few clips.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I have to say, one of the overriding feelings of the night was disbelief.\u00a0 I mean, here was an event that I had spent years dreaming about, most of the time wondering if it would even ever happen.\u00a0 And yet, there were my books on the shelf.\u00a0 It was all a bit surreal, but in the best possible way.\u00a0 I owe a big thank you to everyone who came out to show their support, and who made the event what it was.\u00a0 I may not have been able to talk to you all personally, but I noticed that you were there, and I appreciated it so much.\u00a0 And a big thank you to Anne & Co. at The King’s English for hosting the event.<\/p>\n

The principal at one of the schools where I work did something really great for me the other day.\u00a0 He had ordered several copies of The Clockwork Three<\/em> for the school’s library (many copies, actually,) and when the UPS guy delivered the box, my principal organized a little ceremonial opening.\u00a0 He gathered several students in the library, and we all opened the box of books together.\u00a0 He took pictures, and they wrote something up in the PTA newsletter about it.\u00a0 It was really nice of him to take a moment like that and turn it into something special that I’ll remember for a long time.\u00a0 Thanks, Don.<\/p>\n
