Deseret News interview, and a few more nice reviews

The Deseret News interview I gave should be in the Sunday Arts section of the paper tomorrow.  But it’s also up online, and if you’d like to read it, click here.

The journalist who interviewed me also reviewed the The Clockwork Three, and you can read that here.  I like the line, “Part mystery, part adventure, part science project…”

A couple of other links:

BookPage reviews the book here.

And Utah blogger Debbie reviews it over at Cranberry Fries.

That’s it, for now.  Don’t forget about the launch event for The Clockwork Three at the King’s English Bookshop.  September 30, 6 PM.  More details here.

  1. I work in a school library and we just received your book as a donation form a community group…the kids are so excited to read it! Congrats!

  2. Matt, I just stumbled upon your website. Today, I really needed to hear a story of success. Kudos to you for making it in this insane writer’s world! I’m at a book crossroads, kind of waiting for agent responses, while itching for a rewrite. You’re book looks amazing. I’ll look for it. Cheers, Julie

    • Thanks, Julie.

My path to publication took 10 years, and I know some writers who took longer – so don’t give up, okay? You’ll get there.

  3. Congratulations on those great reviews and the interview! I just got back from my local Borders (no indies in my area, alas), where THE CLOCKWORK THREE was face-out on the shelf. Now it’s sitting beside me and I’m having trouble keeping my fingers off it. It’s such a gorgeously made book, and a tactile pleasure, too, with that gold foil and the embossed letters on the cover. The inside is a pleasure to look at, too–I love the fonts and the weight of the paper. It even smells good! And those three gears stamped into the book? How cool is that? Now I can’t wait until I have time to settle back into the story, to see how its evolved since I last read it. What a wonderful job Scholastic did with your wonderful words.

    Rebecca
